Code Of Conduct
Rules of Behaviour and Conduct
All Alberta Luge Association members (athletes, parents, volunteers, coaches, officials, and clubs) are expected to adhere to the following rules of behaviour and conduct.
Members will:
- show respect for the sport of luge, all Associations involved with the sport of luge, all participants involved in the sport of luge, and all supporters of the sport of luge
- abide by the common principles of fair play and good sportsmanship
- avoid action or conduct that could bring disrupt to the Alberta Luge Association
- avoid action or conduct that could interfere with a competition, training session or the preparation of any athlete for a competition or a training session
- refrain from inappropriate behaviour including but not limited to any illegal act, damage or destruction of property, substance abuse, use of abusive or foul language and poor sportsmanship
- act in a responsible, professional manner when representing the Alberta Luge Association or the sport of luge in any sponsorship or endorsement program
- not use, possess, supply, or encourage the use of any banned drugs or substances according to the policies laid out by Sport Canada, the International Luge Federation or the International Olympic Association
- submit at competitions and all other times as required, for doping control testing
- follow all directions of the coaches, officials, and volunteers
- be responsible for the care of all assigned equipment
- report all injuries, accidents, and incidents to the Alberta Luge Association or its designate either in writing or verbally within 24 hours
A breach of the above outlined rules of behaviour and conduct may results in the member loosing their “in good standing” status within the Alberta Luge Association.
Sport Specific Rules
The Alberta Luge Association, its members and clubs will abide by and follow all rules as outlined by the International Luge Federation, for all events sanctioned by the Alberta Luge Association in all disciplines of luge. A copy of these rules can be obtained from the International Luge Federation.
The Alberta Luge Association has the right to amend rules in Alberta Luge Association Sanctioned Events. |
